Croatia is an ideal country for sailing. It has 1185 islands, countless bays for visiting, 300 miles of beaches, tourist cities vibrant with life, youngsters and night life. Every place you visit is more beautiful than the next. All of these create an amazing sailing area with an infinite variety of sailing routes.
The sailing route that leaves Dubrovnik northwards, along the Dalmatian coast, combines ancient cities and nature reserves. Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful areas in Croatia, and the ancient city of Dubrovnik, with its beautiful narrow alleys and houses, is considered to be the main attraction of the place. Its night life too is rich and diversified, making it a live and tourist city. Mljet National Park, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Croatia, and the islands Korcula, Sipan and Lastovo, have golden beaches, delicious seafood restaurants and exciting nightlife.
The recommended season for sailing is in the months between June and October. The weather is pleasant and warm, and the temperatures range between 22-32 degrees. Generally, there are northern or north western winds. Bora winds are more common in winter, but can also appear in summer, and you should be aware of their sudden appearance. In most places, there are private and organized marines, like ACI Marina in which you can find water, electricity and a supermarket. In season, it is recommended not to arrive later than 16:00 so that you will have place to anchor in the marina. The protected bays that are abundant in Croatia, also provide a wonderful possibility of anchorage during day and night.

Islango Recommended Sailing Route
Day 1:
Dubrovnik marina is a good base to exit from. The marina is organized, with restaurants, supermarket and swimming pool. On the first day of sailing, go to the Otok Sipan island to the Sipanska Luka town – a village that has anchorage with restaurants along the pier. There is a fish market right inside the village. We recommend tasting the local olive oil that is considered especially good.
Day 2:
nchor at noon in Prozurska bay- Mljet island, a small bay and pretty village, which is well protected. For the night stopover sail to the village of Pomena. It is recommended not to arrive very late. There is restaurants along the pier, bakery and supermarket. A nature reserve with salt lakes only a 20 minute walk away. You can also rent bicycles and ride in the reserve.
Day 3:
Sail to the Korcula island – do not miss this! At the ACI marina you need to reserve a place in advance otherwise in season it will be fully booked. There are many restaurants, bars and wonderful night life. It is worth touring the ancient city and climbing the church tower to see the impressive view.
Day 4:
nchor for lunch stop at Trstenik. Here there is a famous winery and a few restaurants and coffee shops. Trstenik is a small town renowned for its wines, and visitors to Trstenik can sample the famous Plavac Mali red. Continue onwards to anchor at night at the Mijet island in the beautiful and protected Okuklje bay with restaurants and church that looks over the entire bay, just a 20 minute walk away.
Day 5:
Exit to the Slano bay for Mediterranean mooring in the nature at the eastern side of the entrance to the bay. You can also anchor at ACI – the new marina.
DAY 6:
A sunrise sail (recommended) to the Kolocep Island the north western bay. Free anchorage in a quiet bay with a small village and a sandy swimming beach. After Return to the marina in Dubrovnik. We recommend returning early for a tour in the ancient city of Dubrovnik if you have not managed to visit it. Vimbula is the recommended restaurant that is outside of the marina along the river, just a 10-minute walk away.
Day 7:
Yachts departure is until 9:00am.
